Salary:

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED required; four-year degree preferred. Strong, detail-oriented team leader with excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which includes a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee operations of all sports programming.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with members and participants of CPRST sports and leagues.
  • Maintain high membership conversion ratios through improved program participation.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of all sports programming.
  • Performances and implement program changes and/or enhancements as needed.
  • Provide leadership and vision in the improvement and development of existing and new innovative sports and recreation program development to better meet the needs of members and the community.
  • Implement and direct department promotional and retention strategies for new and existing sports programs.
  • Develop and maintain effective gym, facility scheduling and equipment to best serve members of all ages; establish policies, procedures, and guidelines for staff to ensure quality member experience.
  • Gathers supplies and materials for recreational programs and events.
  • Helps with set up and breakdown for events and/or programs.
  • Supervises and interacts with children attending programs and events.
  • Keeps a positive and energetic attitude with children and parents during programs and events.
  • Reports any issues or incidents to the Programs Lead and/or Programs and Events Coordinator.
  • Serves as event staff for all department special events.
  • Maintains professional internal and external relationships in keeping with CPRST core values.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours, which will include nights, weekends, and some holidays, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.
  • Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics, working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel, and Community.
  • Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Attends all meetings as required by supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in various settings that could include indoor or outdoor environments where there is a potential for exposure to various weather conditions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to occasionally lift up to fifty pounds as well as sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time. Job also requires moving equipment around for programs assisting in all program set-up and tear down, and other similar work.
