Sales and Use Tax Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for Sales and Use Tax professional for a growing client just north of Cincinnati. Ideal candidates will have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience along with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $22 and $26.50/hr. depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Review new and existing tax laws, court cases, regulations, and rulings to minimize the corporate tax burden.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws/regulations for responsible states.
• Manage the initial review of all sales tax exemption certificates.
• Serve as the initial internal interface on day-to-day transaction tax issues.
• Work towards minimizing sales, use, and property tax deficiencies while maximizing refund opportunities.
• Identify tax savings ideas and collaborate with a team to implement solutions.
• Oversee the management of senior tax accountants.
• Assist in billing requests analysis and outsourcing of compliance functions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in tax software and applications like SAP.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws/regulations.
• Proficient in auditing and accounting principles.
• Ability to analyze and resolve audit issues effectively.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Experience in tax provision processes, including preparing reports and schedules.
• Proven track record in managing and improving the sales tax reporting process.
• Demonstrated ability to mitigate tax liabilities from a sales and use perspective.
• Skilled in preparing monthly sales and use tax returns for relevant state and local jurisdictions.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour
