Qualifications
- Knowledge of operation of maintenance and custodial equipment. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Clean the buildings; sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and scrub areas and generally keep the school clean and sanitary. This will include emptying garbage, cleaning spills of all types. Clean and sanitize bathrooms on a regular basis.
- Responsible for informing the Head Custodian of cleaning supply status and any areas that require additional cleaning or maintenance.
- Adhere to proper use of equipment, products and current methods of operation in order to work efficiently.
- Work full assigned shift and contact your supervisor if you unable to complete a shift.
- Provide the proper care of floors, equipment and fixtures or any other cleaning problems that may arise.
- Report need for repairs and upkeep of the clock systems in the building
- Report needed repairs to the Head Custodian or the Building Administrator.
- Keep all necessary records and make reports required of the Custodian position
- Report the need for general school supplies throughout the building to the Head Custodian.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Head Custodian or Building Administrator
- Maintain poise and emotional stability to cope with the many requests that are directed to this position
- Keep abreast of the many regulations for the safety and health of those who occupy and use the building
- Maintain good relationships with administrators, custodians and all people using school facilities
- Devote time and energy effectively to do the job
- Exercise good judgment in arriving at decisions
- Maintain high standards of ethics, honesty and integrity in all personal and professional matters
