Job Overview:

We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and socially conscious human resources professional to serve as the HR Manager. This new position supports our people initiatives and aims to build an engaged, collaborative workplace culture in an innovative start-up environment. The HR Manager will report directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's HR compliance and strategy needs.
  2. Administer and oversee human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  3. Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
  4. Develop onboarding strategy and processes.
  5. Develop and oversee HR strategies to support a remote work environment.
  6. Monitor and collaborate with organizational leaders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and modify policies to maintain compliance.
  7. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  8. Perform other responsibilities as determined by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. 5+ years of human resources experience, with preference for experience in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and analytical skills.
  5. Experience supervising staff.
  6. Certifications such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or other professional certifications, are highly preferred.
  7. Strong commitment to social justice.
