The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting HR day-to-day operations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HR administration, compensation administration support, HRIS management and administration, reporting and analysis, and policies and procedures.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years related Human Resources experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in creating presentations in PowerPoint at all levels of direction on content.
- Experience running and generating reports in Excel.
- Experience creating and maintaining organization charts using relevant software.
- Strong analytical experience with the proven ability to integrate work with multiple deadlines and objectives.
- Must be able to drive performance against resources and timelines.
- Provide support, assistance for all employee relations activities
- Personnel file and records maintenance
- Update and present changes to HR policies and procedures
- Experience with HRIS/Applicant Tracking databases is a plus (ADP and ICIMS).
Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Proficient in designing and editing organizational charts in Visio
- Ability to manage and coordinate information with a high level of confidentiality.
- Proven ability to complete assignments with little direction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, composition, editing and proofreading skills.
- Self-starter – enjoys solving problems and initiating solutions.
Key Result Areas and Activities:
1. Compensation Administration Support
- Assists with analyzing data and recommending changes to salary ranges.
- Recommends annual wage increases, calculates the cost of the increases, and creates wage and salary proposals.
- Implements the annual wage and salary increases in conjunction with Payroll.
- Maintains salary range information and records.
- Partners with Recruiting, HR and Payroll with salary increases, promotions and hiring decisions.
2. HRIS Management and Administration
- Maintains human resources information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Assists in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches.
- Support and maintain quality and consistency of the HRMS information, business process workflows, configuration, security and reporting.
- Ensure data integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzes data flows for process improvement opportunities.
- Review, test and implement system upgrades, patches and other technical projects as assigned.
- Document processes and results associated with the systems.
- Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, and use project management skills.
- Write, maintain, and provide a variety of reports as needed.
3. Reporting & Analysis
- Maintains organizational charts and staffing changes in Visio, ADP and SAP.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
4. HR Administration
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
- Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.– Prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Act as neutral mediator in employee disputes
- Assist and advise people managers in employee performance management.
