Description/Notes: Primary Purpose:
Facilitate the efficient operation of the Superintendent’s office and provide clerical services to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general public. Expectation exists for a longer workday/week.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
● High School diploma or GED
● Advanced clerical training courses
Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
● Three years or more of advanced secretarial experience with extensive contact with people. Prior experience in executive office of public school district or another entity recommended.
● Proficient in organizational skills, keyboarding, typing, word processing and file maintenance.
● Knowledge of school district organization, operations, and administrative policies and procedures.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to use personal computer, software, and Google applications to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing as required.
● Paraprofessional Certification recommended.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
● Prepare and post official board agendas of all regular, special board meetings, work sessions and workshops.
● Attend, record, and maintain official minutes of all regular and special board meetings.
● Collect, organize, copy, and bind all materials for board meetings; distribute to board members, administrators, and media.
● Serve as Election Administrator for District and liaison with City/Town Secretaries, Denton and Tarrant County Elections Administrator in conducting city/school board and school bond elections.
● Secure housing, process registration for conferences for superintendent and board members; ensure travel reimbursements to superintendent and board members are performed in a timely manner.
● Organize and manage daily work activities of the superintendent’s office including:
● Maintain and ensure confidentiality of information for the office of superintendent.
● Keep informed of and comply with state and district policies and regulations concerning job functions.

● Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; Prolonged use of computer.
● Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
● Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
● Occasional light lifting and carrying.
● Work with frequent interruptions.
● Maintain emotional control under stress.
● Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.

Salary Range: $32.72 - $47.10 / Hourly Rate
