Department Summary:

MITRE’s Secure Enterprise and Cloud Architectures Department (L523) provides subject matter expertise and consulting to Federal Government sponsors in enterprise-wide security architecture, with specific emphasis on cloud computing, zero trust architecture, 5G, and networking technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver innovative and secure architectures, solutions, and strategies for enterprise IT and the cloud for government customers.
  2. Conduct security assessments of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
  3. Collaborate with senior government officials, providing technical and strategic advice to cyber challenges identified by the government.
  4. Apply knowledge of network architectures, security technologies, zero trust and cyber threats to provide customers the ability to protect, detect, and respond to cyber-attacks directed against customer systems.
  5. Keep current with the latest enterprise and cloud security technologies, trends, and regulations.
  6. Leverage your vision and expertise to advance the state of the art in the use of AI/ML and zero trust to improve the security posture of government systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, Information Systems; 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; relevant experience with a Ph.D.; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  2. Advanced knowledge of and experience applying cybersecurity principles in large organizations.
  3. Advanced knowledge of and experience designing and applying cloud, networking, and/or enterprise architectures in large organizations.
  4. Ability to lead and work with others to solve challenging technical problems.
  5. Experience in process design/improvement and application with technical concepts into comprehensive strategy.
  6. Experience with cybersecurity technologies and tools, trends, and emerging capabilities.
  7. Knowledge of industry current and future cybersecurity strategies, concepts, and technologies.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences to include government senior executives.
  9. U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level security clearance.
  10. This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certification from CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or NCSF.
  2. Experience with certification and accreditation processes, to include security engineering and security architecture, as well as implementing processes for enterprise architectures in the intelligence community.
  3. Experience working with current Risk Management Framework related policy guidance and related legacy policy guidance.
  4. Experience implementing, developing, or managing systems using one of the predominant Cloud Service Providers.
  5. Experience with implementing or managing security incident and event management (SIEM) tools and security data lakes.
  6. Experience with zero trust strategy, architecture, implementation, and operations.
  7. Knowledge of US Government enterprise and network security concepts and solutions.

Clearance Requirements:

This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): None. This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Top Secret.

Salary Compensation Range:

$153,000 - $191,500 - $230,000 Annual
