Department Summary:
MITRE’s Secure Enterprise and Cloud Architectures Department (L523) provides subject matter expertise and consulting to Federal Government sponsors in enterprise-wide security architecture, focusing on cloud computing, zero trust architecture, 5G, and networking technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver innovative and secure architectures, solutions, and strategies for enterprise IT and the cloud for government customers.
- Conduct security assessments of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Collaborate with senior government officials, providing technical and strategic advice to address cyber challenges.
- Apply knowledge of network architectures, security technologies, zero trust, and cyber threats to enhance customer security.
- Stay current with the latest enterprise and cloud security technologies, trends, and regulations.
- Leverage expertise in AI/ML and zero trust to improve the security posture of government systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or Information Systems; 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; relevant experience with a Ph.D.; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of cyber security principles in large organizations.
- Experience designing and applying cloud, networking, and/or enterprise architectures.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively to solve technical problems.
- Experience with cybersecurity technologies, tools, trends, and emerging capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with various audiences, including government senior executives.
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level security clearance.
- This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or NCSF.
- Experience with certification and accreditation processes, security engineering, and security architecture.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework-related policy guidance, including NIST RMF, NIST CSF, and DoD 8500.
- Experience implementing systems using dominant Cloud Service Providers.
- Experience with security incident and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Knowledge of US Government enterprise and network security concepts.
Salary compensation range and midpoint: $153,000 - $191,500 - $230,000 Annual
