Job Summary
The Assistant Director (AD) of Residential Life will provide leadership to the assigned Residential Life Neighborhood of three to five residences and additional master leased properties housing approximately 3,000 students (of the 17,000 student residential system) through a commitment to student development, academic success, supervision, teamwork and communication. This position will support the strategic vision of Purdue University Residences residential campus environment which offers students opportunities for personal growth through relationship building within a residential campus environment and share in the student-centered focus for the neighborhood oversight. The AD will provide direction and expertise to the neighborhood while working to maintain and enhance the intercultural, educational, and social experiences of residential students. Responsible for maintaining a commitment to the success of Purdue's strategic plan. This position will support Purdue students located in West Lafayette and Indianapolis.
What We Are Looking For
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Master’s degree in student affairs or related field
- At least three (3) years experience in Residential Life, fraternity & sorority life, student activities, group living, or related field
- Will accept an equivalent combination of required education and work experience
- For example, a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience
Preferred:
- Five (5) years of experience in Residential Life or related field.

- Ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions
- Proficiency in Office software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook/Electronic Email
- Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality
- Desire to increase knowledge and skills through on-going development activities
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
