Purpose of this Role:

As a Production Supervisor, you will manage production during a given shift, overseeing the staff, ensuring quality control, monitoring equipment, and handling all other day-to-day aspects of production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all operations staff are following and executing all operations and equipment safely.
  2. Oversee and provide constant training and technical assistance to all operation staff, ensuring they are trained in and are following all work instructions and best practices.
  3. Report any defective/non-conforming product.
  4. Perform quality control as required by the work instructions and as instructed by the production and quality leaders and staff.
  5. Ensure traceability of the product and its components through proper use of the Data Collection System.
  6. Check the minimum stock of raw materials in production necessary to fulfill the production schedule, refilling and ordering as required.
  7. Work with the Maintenance Technician to resolve maintenance problems, following all procedures.
  8. Meet with the Lead Hands and Production Supervisor of the previous and subsequent shifts, transferring information about problems and solutions implemented during their shift.
  9. Inform the Production Manager about issues regarding production, quality, process, and/or organization of personnel or resources immediately upon observation.
  10. Propose improvements to all procedures and processes to improve yield and uptime of production processes and all relevant equipment.
  11. Maintain the ability to perform all tasks associated with the production of the product, and substitute for any operation staff in any area during breaks and/or absences with the shift.
  12. Work overtime as needed.
  13. Minimize the risk of accidents and quality issues.
  14. Maximize the technical knowledge and engagement of the operations staff.
  15. Maximize the uptime of the equipment and the traceability and quality of the finished product.
  16. Achieve the production goals and improvements outlined by the Production Manager.
  17. Develop the spirit of cooperation on their shift.
  18. Communicate company information to their shift as required.
  19. Work with other teams to ensure improvements and efficiencies are maximized across the organization.
  20. Complete other tasks as required and/or directed by management.

  9. Knowledge of process improvements, budgeting, and production standards
  10. Punctual and dependable
  11. Ability to lift objects less than 25 pounds and team lift objects approximately 60 pounds.
  12. Able to stand, walk and work on feet for full shift.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  1. 5 years of experience as a production supervisor at a manufacturing plant
  2. Experience with production planning, controls, and instrumentation
  3. Experience with MRP and/or ERP systems
