Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Manager, Production is responsible for overseeing the following aspects of Operations in their fulfillment center:
- Production & Fabrication: Work with Operations Manager to oversee and determine sequence of activities concerning job scheduling interaction with all production departments within the fulfillment center, including work schedules and manpower needs.
- Staging: Oversee Staging aspect of all fulfillment working closely with Operations Coordination and Staging Technicians to ensure accurate & efficient staging.
- Building Maintenance: Oversee building maintenance by establishing and maintaining routine property maintenance schedule. Coordinate and schedule with internal and external resources as needed.
- Health and Safety: Establish, review and control Health & Safety policies and practices to ensure federal, state and city compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all Operations personnel adhere to all IXM Global processes and policies accurately & efficiently.
- Support development and facilitation of IXM Systems & Processes.
- Collaborate with IXM Management to effectively forecast upcoming fulfillment.
- Provide premier customer service, quality of work, and reliability.
- Work closely with Operations Coordination to ensure that all required work order fulfillment is scheduled and completed accurately & efficiently.
- Ensure that non-billable labor hours equal less than 10% of total hours during bi-weekly pay periods.
- Manage fabrication/production process.
- Recommend fabrication and production techniques based on design objectives and budget.
- Monitor quality of workmanship and production.
- Manage costs to ensure budget goals are met.
- Monitor, coordinate, and communicate all project specifications and ongoing progress to team members.
- Manage Staging Technicians and contractors to ensure preps are accurately & efficiently executed before all events with proper reporting.
- Ability to troubleshoot any issues discovered during Staging Process and work closely with Operations Manager, ADs/AMs/PMs to resolve.
- Ensure reporting Operations personnel submit daily time and material usage tickets in a timely manner.
- Work with Operations Coordination/purchasing to ensure all stock materials are kept current and on hand as needed for production.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 10 - 20 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and/or 5+ years’ exhibit industry experience – specifically in a Production or Project Management role or similar experience successfully executing projects and programs and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Outlook.
