Production Superintendent
We are seeking a dedicated Production Superintendent to oversee our manufacturing operations. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring safety, enhancing production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and managing human resources effectively. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in engineering, leadership across multiple shifts, and a keen ability to drive system improvements in a dynamic environment.
Salary: $108,000.00 - $144,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and enforce the implementation of safety protocols across all shifts, ensuring the integration of the company's Life Saving Rules and Safety Manual.
- Actively participate in and lead the plant safety committee and major hazard teams; oversee incident investigations and expedite corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards through management of change protocols, PM items, and extensive employee participation.
- Manage daily production operations to meet schedules and targets; troubleshoot and resolve operational disruptions.
- Coordinate outage planning and optimize plant uptime in close collaboration with the maintenance and project departments.
- Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, and ensure accurate process costing and variance justifications.
- Administer human resources tasks such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a professional work environment.
- Drive quality control processes, including the review of new manufacturing recipes and supporting ISO certification efforts.
- Enhance operation systems by implementing new SOPs and ensuring all operators receive necessary certification and training.
- Stand in for the Site Leader during absences, ensuring continuity and stability within the operational framework.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a significant equivalent in professional experience.
- At least five years of managerial experience in chemical processing or a directly related industry.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and motivational skills.
- Proven analytical abilities with superb team-building skills; must be a proactive self-starter.
- Competency in transformational leadership, change management, effective communication, and emergency coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced mechanical aptitude with a robust understanding of process equipment and excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
- Formal training in management and supervisory practices.
- Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
