Production Superintendent - Night Shift

Join our team in Manchester, Iowa, as a Production Superintendent for the night shift, where you will play a pivotal role in supervising staff and ensuring efficient workflow in our manufacturing facility. This position offers you the opportunity to directly impact our operations by optimizing processes, managing teams, and driving performance improvements. As the direct delegate of the Director of Operations during the night shift, your leadership will be crucial in maintaining product quality and meeting production deadlines while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.

Salary: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Enhance workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, and coordinating personnel and resources.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies and innovations in production methods.
  • Ensure adherence to production plans by scheduling personnel, setting work priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, and resolving production issues.
  • Uphold high-quality service by enforcing organizational standards.
  • Maintain equipment operability by scheduling repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Generate, organize, and analyze production performance records and data to support manufacturing decisions and responses.
  • Develop and optimize operational systems and procedures related to recordkeeping, controls, budgeting, and staffing needs.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety and health guidelines and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by achieving related results as needed.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Industrial Engineering; Industrial Technology; Supply Chain; or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience directly supervising 10 or more employees and managing multiple department operations.
  • Strong ability to act as a nightly representative of the Director of Operations, managing extensive team activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Additional certifications related to process improvement, such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience in the specific sector of the manufacturing industry relevant to our company’s focus.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing operational procedures that reduce cost and improve efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills.
