Responsible for the overall manufacturing of products according to specifications, to meet the business objectives at the site. Assists in guiding fellow site management team members in developing and ensuring implementation of policies, yearly improvement plans, and best practices, contributing to the development of policy in line with corporate guidelines and business plans to ensure the realization of strategic objectives of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  1. As a member of the site management team, contribute to the formulation of site objectives from a production perspective and ensure site capabilities, constraints, and HSE considerations are incorporated into the site plan.
  2. Lead an operational excellence agenda by coaching & teaching functional excellence in all areas while achieving sustainable improvement in the safety, reliability, productivity, quality, and eco-efficiency of the production or plant operations.
  3. Implement ALPS, CoE, and Quality processes for the site consistent with the agreed ISC functional excellence agenda.
  4. Develop individual team members and build a team which collectively is capable of and fully involved in achieving the task. Also establish and enforce minimum personal performance level within Production.
  5. Manage human resources, stimulate talent management, and identify and select talents with growth potential.
  6. Participate in the definition & execution of investments for production-related activities and equipment.
  7. Work with RD&I to enable New Product Introductions.
  8. Lead and participate in Tier 2, 3, and 4 meetings. Ensure day-to-day problems are solved and contained at the right level.
  9. Inspire commitment to AkzoNobel’s purpose, vision, strategy, core principles, values, and leadership behaviors.
  10. Ensure that job profiles are in place, set objectives for team members, review development, and provide clear, open, and constructive feedback on performance combined with the appropriate actions.
  11. Manage and plan relevant budgets and proactively manage costs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or other related field from four-year college or university
  • 6+ years of paint manufacturing or liquid batch manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of previous supervisory/management experience
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal skills, performance management, and people development skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator with all levels of the organization (employees, managers, customers)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.)

Base salary range for this role is: $110,000 to $120,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
