We are seeking a dynamic Housekeeping Manager to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities
  1. Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
  2. Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
  3. Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
  4. Inspect all arriving hotel rooms, public spaces, exteriors and back of house daily and make necessary adjustments
  5. Notify Maintenance Department of any rooms that need to be placed out-of-order for maintenance concerns
  6. Monitor housekeeping staff to ensure early room cleanliness for prompt check in
  7. Ensure Associates are briefed on daily needs
  8. Respond appropriately to guest complaints
  9. Implement and enforce appropriate service recovery guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction
  10. Possess a thorough understanding of the Property Management System
  11. Determine appropriate staffing levels for forecasted business and schedules employees accordingly
  12. Implement process for providing employees with customer service, technical and safety training on an ongoing basis
  13. Schedule and regularly conduct routine inspections of the guest rooms, corridors and public areas to ensure the appearance of such areas reflects highly on the hotel, brand, and Company
  14. Supervise the laundry operation (and/or outsourced relationship)
  15. Monitor assigned departments with compliance to safety standards
  16. Coordinate room availability with the Front Office Manager
  17. Monitor and develop employee performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling, evaluations, setting annual goals and delivering recognition and reward
  18. Ensure that current information on rates, packages and promotions is available for housekeeping knowledge
  19. Anticipate low occupancy periods and coordinate blocking of rooms with Front Office Manager to maximize labor costs, deep cleaning and maintenance of rooms
  20. Establish par levels for supplies, linen, uniform and equipment
  21. Complete requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business and balancing check book
  22. Ensure that work is accurate, thorough, and to the standards of the Executive Housekeeper and the company
  23. Develop actions plans to correct any deficiencies
  24. Ensure staff understands their job expectations before holding them accountable
  25. Seek to understand the guest and internal customer and meet the needs of both the customer and the company
  26. Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
  27. Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
  28. Attend relevant meetings
Core Competencies
  1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  2. Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
  3. Strong communication skills
