Job Overview

The Vice President of Donated Goods Retail is a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering our retail operations towards unprecedented success. In collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, you will cultivate a synergistic environment that promotes operational efficiency and fosters the growth of team members. Your leadership will be instrumental in nurturing robust internal and external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Direct the everyday functions of retail stores, donation centers, warehouses, logistics, recycling, aftermarket sales, e-commerce, and the Outlet Store.
  2. Serve as the chief representative of the division, engaging with key stakeholders.
  3. Oversee retail performance analytics, optimizing operations to enhance profitability and implementing targeted improvement strategies.
  4. Guide the retail team in setting and achieving both immediate and long-term objectives.
  5. Supervise managers to meet revenue and expense benchmarks and conduct monthly evaluations of financial performance.
  6. Collaborate with retail leadership to improve product merchandising and fulfill sales targets.
  7. Ensure adherence to organizational policies and safety standards, maintaining compliance with regulatory obligations.
  8. Work closely with transportation and warehouse operations to effectively support retail needs.
  9. Implement security protocols to safeguard company assets and reduce losses.
  10. Partner with the COO in strategizing retail expansion and overseeing the launch of new store locations.
  11. Stay current on regulations pertaining to the sale of secondhand goods and participate in necessary training sessions.

Required Skills

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software.
  2. Strong capability in managing operations across multiple sites.
  3. Excellent communication skills for policy development and business correspondence.
  4. Ability to analyze intricate financial data and derive actionable insights.

Qualifications

  1. A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related discipline is required.
  2. A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in manufacturing or retail, with at least five years in a supervisory capacity.
  3. Experience in thrift retail is advantageous, but an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
