Senior Smart Hands Data Center Technician
Location: Onsite - Ashburn, VA
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
US citizenship required per government contract
Summary:
Senior Data Center Smart Hands Technician will provide onsite support in the customer's two Data Centers. They will perform hands on tasks such as server/network/rack installation, troubleshooting, cabling, decommissioning equipment, inventory and asset management, physical space planning in the data center, and maintain network/rack diagrams. The technician will split time between two data centers.
Required:
•5+ years with a BS/BA degree or 9+ years of hands-on experience in a datacenter environment
•Understand power redundancy, power usage, different styles of power cords and amps needed per cabinet in a data center environment
•Installation of new data center racks and understanding of rack PDU's, cabling and power requirements
•Rack and stack physical servers/network devices, fiber and copper patching and cable management
•Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity issues
Preferred:
•Data Center asset and inventory management
•Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, customer service and reliable team member
•Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing equipment, cabling and documentation
•Use of ServiceNow as a ticketing and asset management system
