  • Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

KKCS is seeking an Associate Vice President of Engineering and Delivery to lead project delivery within the rail, transit, and airport sectors. This role involves leading project teams, delivering successful outcomes for large-scale infrastructure projects, and ensuring compliance with industry and best standards. The role will involve developing and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners while driving innovation and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Associate Vice President of Engineering and Delivery y will be reporting to KKCS's Senior Vice President/Chief Delivery Officer. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering projects for agencies such as FTA, Metro, LAWA, Metrolink, Caltrans, BART, Amtrak, or similar. In addition, the ideal candidate functions independently, demonstrates leadership in fast-paced team environments, and has strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:As Associate Vice President of Engineering and Delivery, you will:
  • Lead the execution of major rail, transit, and airport projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives, project timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and overall project performance.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with clients, regulators, and partners, representing the company and fostering long-term relationships.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive, delivery across multiple disciplines.
    • Ensure the integration of environmental, sustainability, and safety measures within all project phases.
    • Report on project status, identify risks, and lead efforts to mitigate issues in a timely and effective manner.
      • Support business development by leading and contributing to proposal development, bid reviews, and presentations.
        • Participate in and represent the company in industry forums and professional organizations.
        • Mentor, coach, and manage the performance of project managers, engineers, and delivery teams.
          • Drive improvements in project management processes, including the use of cutting-edge technology and best practices in project controls and communication.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is desirable.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
    • PMP Desired
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within the rail, transit, or airport infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar projects involving multiple stakeholders and regulatory environments.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with FTA, FAA, Metro, Amtrak, LAWA, BART, Metrolink, or similar agencies.
    • Proficient in project management software, including , Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
      • Proven leadership in delivering projects on time and within budget, while maintaining high professional and quality standards.
        • Analytical mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
        • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
