Senior Vice President, Corporate Financial Communications

This highly motivated, entrepreneurial senior leader will support a growing financial communication portfolio, mentor and manage a team, and actively source new business, building on the firm's expertise in financial and corporate communications. This person must have experience counselling senior executives, CEOs, and boards of directors and be able to navigate complex multi-stakeholder situations with ease. They will help execute integrated corporate communications initiatives, including financial, investor, and transaction communications, executive and corporate reputation-building, and issues and crisis management. This role will be a senior advisor to clients and will play an active day-to-day role in the management and oversight of all communications work related to this portfolio.

Responsibilities:
- Expanding our financial communication portfolio, building on expertise in retail, institutional investments and capital markets by delivering high-quality client service, and excellent work outcomes, and by actively developing new business.
- Leading development of financial and corporate communications strategies - working with teams to leverage research, policy analysis, media trends, stakeholder and client insights, and Changemakers' proprietary Data Intelligence tools.
- Working closely with cross-functional team members (e.g. reconciliation strategies, creative, media, digital, social, etc.) to deliver the highest quality work products and outcomes.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, proactively delivering solutions that advance their business objectives and resolve issues as needed.
- Managing and mentoring a high-performing consultant team to deliver quality client service and acting as the senior lead with key clients.
- Working closely with other senior team members to sell our integrated offering, taking the time to fully understand our competencies and skillsets
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven expertise in managing client relationships with 15+ years in agency and corporate communications
- Skilled in media engagement, crisis management, and handling complex or sensitive issues
- Extensive experience advising on M&A communications and collaborating with legal teams
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial markets
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills
- Proficient in developing strategic partnerships, navigating stakeholder interests, and using data analytics to refine PR strategies
- Capable of driving new business and fostering organic growth
