responsible for accurately processing employee wages, managing payroll records,
and ensuring compliance with tax laws and company policies. They handle tasks
such as verifying timesheets, calculating deductions, and resolving payroll discrepancies
while maintaining confidentiality and precision. This role requires strong
attention to detail, proficiency with payroll systems, and effective

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:Payroll Processing:
Collect and
verify employee timesheets in partnership with HR
Calculate
wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses accurately.
Process payroll
on a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly).
Employee Records Maintenance:
Maintain and
update employee payroll records, including salary, tax withholding, and
banking details.
Ensure
compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure payroll
practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., tax
laws, wage laws).
Prepare and
file payroll tax returns and other compliance documents (e.g., W-2s, W-4s,
1099s).
Generate
reports on payroll activities for management.
Benefits Administration:
Process
benefits deductions, such as health insurance and retirement
contributions.
Coordinate
payroll adjustments for employee benefit enrollments or changes.
Issue Resolution:
Address and
resolve payroll discrepancies, errors, or complaints.
Respond to
employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax forms.
Systems and Software:
Enter and
update payroll data into payroll software or systems.
Ensure payroll
software is functioning correctly and updated as needed.
Auditing and Reconciliation:
Reconcile
payroll accounts with general ledger records.
Conduct
internal audits to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and compliance.
Timekeeping Management:
Monitor and
manage employee timekeeping systems.
Verify proper
approval for time-off requests, sick leave, and other absences.
Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate
with HR and accounting departments on payroll-related issues.
Communicate
changes in payroll policies or processes to employees.
Miscellaneous Administrative Tasks:
Handle
garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
Maintain
payroll filing systems and archive historical data for reference.
