The firm offers comprehensive architectural services, spanning initial project analysis, conceptual design, construction documents, construction administration, and project close-out. Additionally, they provide services in feasibility studies, analysis, master planning, and project management, demonstrating their commitment to delivering holistic solutions to their clients.

The firm's portfolio includes a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from healthcare, civic centers, mixed-use, commercial (offices & restaurants), and residential spaces to administrative complexes, educational institutions, and industrial facilities.

Note: Their current studio is based in Glendale. The office is planning to move to Mid-Wilshire in 2025.

Position Overview

Boasting an impressive legacy of over thirty-five years, they are presently in search of a dynamic Job Captain who shares their commitment and enthusiasm for design excellence. We are seeking an experienced architectural professional with a strong focus on efficiency and production skills. The ideal candidate will have:
• Demonstrated expertise in producing construction documents (CDs) for small projects
• Practical knowledge of building structures, systems, and waterproofing
• Strong ability to follow direction and execute tasks efficiently
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and maintaining productivity
• Revit drafting experience
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision

This role requires someone who can seamlessly step into a production-focused position, with emphasis on documentation. The position offers potential for long-term growth within an established architectural firm with a strong legacy of quality work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Create and refine architectural plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models using Revit
  • Collaborate with senior architects and project teams throughout all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
  • Conduct research on building codes, zoning laws, and regulations to ensure design compliance
  • Participate in site visits to gather information and assess project requirements
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other consultants to integrate building systems and resolve technical issues
  • Contribute to the development of construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications
  • Assist in construction administration tasks, such as reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Contribute to the design development process, translating conceptual ideas into practical and functional design solutions.
  • Create and review architectural drawings, plans, and specifications for Design Development.
  • Produce construction documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and review detailed drawings, specifications, and other project documentation for Construction Documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, engineers, and contractors, fostering effective communication and coordination.
  • Stay current with building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards to ensure project compliance.
  • Integrate code requirements into the design and construction documentation processes.
  • Review drawings, documents, and submittals for document compliance and documenting code review and compliance.
  • Keeps lead architect or designated team leader informed of progress; recognizes problem issues and communicates impact to the team and seeks clarity when necessary.


Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of experience (Open to Senior Level Job Captain candidates with 10+ years)
  • Proficiency in Revit is required; experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, Enscape, and other graphic tools desired
  • Strong 2D and 3D graphic skills desired
  • Experience in tenant improvement, healthcare, industrial, community or multi-family housing projects highly desirable
