About this position
We are seeking a skilled Solution Engineer with expertise in Industrial Automation, IoT Connectivity technologies, Edge Computing and Industrial AI to join our team as a technical pre-sales professional. In this role, you will provide Advantech solution technical support to our sales team, key accounts, distributors, and end-users, ensuring outstanding customer service and assistance.

About this position
We are seeking a skilled Solution Engineer with expertise in Industrial Automation, IoT Connectivity technologies, Edge Computing and Industrial AI to join our team as a technical pre-sales professional. In this role, you will provide Advantech solution technical support to our sales team, key accounts, distributors, and end-users, ensuring outstanding customer service and assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sales team to identify and understand customer requirements and provide technical advice and support to develop solutions that meet customer needs.
- Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective customers.
- Develop and deliver technical proposals, solution architecture recommendations, statements of work, and other technical documentation as required.
- Work with customers to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key technical contacts at customer accounts.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing team to promote Advantech products, solutions and collect use cases.
- Provide technical product training to the sales team, channel partners, system integrators, OEMs, and end users.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, engineering for the following (certifications a plus):
- Strong knowledge of automation and IoT technologies, such as PLC, I/O, HMI/SCADA, Fieldbus communication, wireless network, Edge computing, machine vision.
- Experience with Computer Operating System Microsoft Windows and various Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu(required), Yocto, Debian, RHEL, CentOS
- Familiarity with cloud-edge orchestration and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing skills for technical proposal
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Onsite support, Ability to travel to customers (approximately 20%)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NVIDIA based solutions including GPU cards and Jetson
- Working knowledge of AI/ML or machine vision applications
- Experience with any of the major cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, GCP or others
