Position Description
The Executive Development Lead will work to ensure successful talent solutions are in place for senior leaders to develop excellence in their roles and to continue to grow their careers within Atlantic Union Bank. Key responsibilities include consultation and managing all programs enabling Executive Development, including the development of content and materials in support of these programs. Assess needs, develop curricula and identify appropriate delivery strategies for the best possible outcomes. Work with external partners as required to supplement internal program development and delivery. Programs should be in alignment with broader Talent Management and Talent Development initiatives, to ensure developmental career tracks exist for high potential leaders with Atlantic Union Bank.

Position Accountabilities
Consultant
- Brings subject matter expertise in executive development to design, develop and deliver programming that strengthens our senior-level talent bench to increase capability and to fully realize their career potential
- Consult with Human Resources Business Partners and business leaders to assess skills and experience gaps
- Consider the whole system when identifying root causes and proposing potential solutions
- Build and manage key relationships, with a focus on executive and senior leadership
- Ensure solutions are scalable and sustainable, yet personalized to as needed to individual needs
- Serve as thought leader and subject matter expert on modern learning and coaching practices for corporate leaders
Program Development & Management
- Oversee assessment strategies to evaluate talent capabilities and potential
- Develop a needs assessment process using multiple data points to address macro-level leadership skills
- Use Talent Review data as inputs to develop or refine processes used to create Individual Leadership Plans that address specific gaps for each identified leader
- Create a framework/roadmap to identify the Big Picture plan for executive development at AUB, with special emphasis on high-potential managers
- Design and implement scalable, sustainable and personalized learning solutions for executive talent, using best-in-class principles and guidelines, adhering to adult learning psychology
- Develop omni-channel strategies to build key experiences and skills needed for success at the senior level (Eg. career development materials, career development activities and experiences aligned to skills and competencies, job rotation or stretch assignments, cross-functional visibility, mentorships, etc.)
- Adapt and promote configurable learning frameworks, roadmaps and curricula that can be used to address various enterprise and business needs
- Leverage communication and change management strategies to ensure learning and development solutions are embedded into Atlantic Union Bank's connected performance culture
- Manage external vendor partners to ensure programs and products deliver expected outcomes and are designed and delivered consistently with the Atlantic Union Bank's talent philosophy and models
- Demonstrate strong project management practices and attention to detail
- Develop presentations and communications to ensure the stakeholders are consistently informed about next steps, and the company is kept abreast of ongoing initiatives; adjust as appropriate to address the needs of various stakeholders, including C-level audiences
Facilitator
- When required, provide facilitated executive learning experiences or presentations, both in-person and virtual, demonstrating effective use of presentation/facilitation tools, techniques, materials, etc.
- Evaluate and measure effectiveness of executive development program delivery and recommend continuous improvement methods in partnership with business leaders and other HR partners.
- Participate in the enhancement and improvement of executive-level talent activities (Eg. talent reviews, succession planning, organizational capacity planning, etc.)
- Implement systems and tools to report on programs and outcomes, ensuring insights are leveraged to inform future decision-making
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Head of Enterprise Talent.
Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience desired.
- Master's degree in Human Resource Development, I/O Psychology, Organization Development, Adult Education or related field is preferred
- Advanced certification in Organizational Effectiveness, Executive Development, Executive Coaching or similar is preferred
- 5+ years' experience hands-on learning program design and development at the manager level
- 3+ years' experience working specifically with executive development and/or coaching programs
- 5+ years' management experience in the banking or finance industry preferred

- Subject Matter Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Executive Development programs and best practices for today's corporate leaders
- Strong Project and Program Management Skills: Can sort through complexities and synthesize information rapidly
- Adult Learning: Uses appropriate consultative, assessment techniques and adult learning principles to determine executive development needs and then identify ideal solutions that balance efficiency and effectiveness
- Business Knowledge: Interacts with stakeholders adeptly demonstrating an understanding of banking and how to best align deliverables to organizational talent strategies
- Organizational Awareness: Knows how the organization works and how to work effectively within it
- Problem Solving: Effectively analyzes business problems to determine design solutions that will drive desired outcomes
- Influencing Skills: Extensive experience developing productive relationships, demonstrates confidence and congeniality while working with an executive audience, able to influence across the enterprise in a matrix environment
- Excellent presence, high level of self-awareness, ability to shift communication style to meet the needs of the executive audience
- Thrives under pressure in an uncertain, ever-changing environment
- Proficiency using presentation software, such as PowerPoint, Canva or Prezi. Familiarity with Adobe Spark and Google Slides is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Ability to effectively prioritize and work productively with minimal supervision
