MC Companies is searching for a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive procurement strategy, optimizing costs, ensuring quality, and fostering compliance across all operational divisions, including property operations, corporate functions, and development/construction.

This role combines strategic planning with hands-on management of procurement activities, supplier relationships, contract management, and process improvements to align procurement operations with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Strategy:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive long-term cost savings and operational efficiencies.
    • Establish processes for gathering competitive pricing through RFPs and RFQs.
    • Conduct benchmarking and expense analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management:
    • Standardize contract terms, ensuring inclusion of critical clauses (e.g., pricing structures, delivery timelines, legal/liability protections).
    • Manage contracts to ensure compliance, timely renewals, and quality standards.
    • Centralize existing contracts and integrate them into the Yardi, SharePoint, or other selected system for improved access and compliance tracking.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure reliable services and favorable terms.
    • Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed-upon quality and service metrics.
  • Cost Optimization:
    • Benchmark expenses and negotiate cost-saving opportunities for high-cost areas (e.g., HVAC replacements, landscaping, and trash removal).
    • Leverage volume purchasing to secure discounts and favorable terms.
    • Establish scalable procurement processes that can be replicated across properties and corporate divisions.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Conduct audits of procurement policies and procedures to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
    • Ensure legal compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Mitigate supply chain risks to maintain operational continuity.
    • Enhance operational efficiency and legal protections through standardized processes and robust compliance frameworks.
  • Technology and Process Improvement:
    • Evaluate and recommend procurement software and/or AI solutions, including leveraging existing Yardi "Procure to Pay" capabilities.
    • Automate workflows to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy.
    • Implement dashboards and reporting systems for tracking cost savings and vendor performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal departments to integrate procurement strategies into broader business objectives.
    • Working with MC's Training and Development Manager, facilitate training and communication to ensure adherence to procurement policies across divisions.

Years of Experience

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a procurement/contract management role.
  • Experience managing a procurement program is preferred.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM - Certified Professional in Supply Management, CPM - Certified Purchasing Manager, or CIPS certification).
