is seeking a skilled veterinary technician (licensed preferred) with a passion for teaching! This dynamic role will focus on advancing the technical skills of our primary care support team while also providing in-house patient care. The ideal candidate should demonstrate high-level technical expertise as outlined in the job description. Prior experience in training is preferred, along with a commitment to the Fear-Free approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement onboarding and staff development training materials Review Level Training Sign off and Testing Tools Identify training deficiencies and work to remedy those areas through additional hands-on training, discussion or reference materials Technical Skills Training in Primary Care Includes:

Proper handling techniques Handling high fear aggressive score canine and feline patients Venipuncture – Saphenous, Cephalic and Jugular, clotting concerns Catheter Placement Assist with in-hospital patients Processing Samples for Laboratory Monitoring Sedated Patients Radiographs and Positioning Routine Outpatient Diagnostics Cystocentesis utilizing ultrasound Train to gather thorough and appropriate history Knowledge of Medical Math Train to utilize EMR proficiently Train to understand the medical record Understand and train for basic diagnostic results interpretation Develop training materials to encompass a multi-modal approach including visual, written materials, quizzes and hands-on assessments Work on development paths for primary care support staff members Develop and coordinate wet labs for basic technical procedures Work with supervisors and leads to make recommendations for scheduling training, identify appropriate student/teacher pairs and evaluate other employees comfort level as trainers Identify problem areas in the training workflow and work with team on policy and/or procedural changes that may be indicated Oversee and verify sign offs and testing, may delegate tasks when indicated Utilize a Fear Free Approach – certification preferred or needs to be completed within 90 days Other technical skills as needed Benefits:
