About the Internship Program:
Every year, FHLBank Atlanta welcomes undergraduates and graduates from the country's leading universities to our nine-week, paid internship program. In addition to gaining real-world business experience in the financial services industry, interns can also take advantage of mentoring opportunities, participate in community involvement projects, and enjoy other benefits the Bank has to offer.
Internship duration: June 2, 2025 to August 1, 2025

Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) is a cooperative bank that offers competitively priced financing, community development grants, and other banking services to help member financial institutions make affordable home mortgages and provide economic development credit to neighborhoods and communities. Our products, services, and programs help financial institutions manage daily liquidity, fund mortgages originated for sale in the secondary market, fund loans and investments held in portfolio, improve their asset/liability management, meet community credit needs profitably, cover temporary deposit outflows, and reduce the funding cost of asset growth. FHL Bank Atlanta also serves the economic and housing needs of communities by providing local financial institutions with flexible options for community development initiatives. We contribute 10 percent of our annual net income to the Affordable Housing Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: As directed, researches quantitative methods and financial theory to broaden the scope of current reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Management Committee, and Bank committees such as the Asset/Liability Committee.
As directed, develops new reporting structures to enhance the clarity and accuracy of management reports.
As directed, researches improvements in the risk management software, develops and codes extensions of the software, or use of the software.
Produces financial analyses, as directed, concerning specific facets of the Bank's financial operations, including income projections, risk measurement, advances, mortgage loans, structured debt, and derivatives, including interest rate swaps, caps, floors, swap options, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Minimum Qualifications: Pursuing a Master's Degree in Quantitative Finance/Financial Mathematics/Financial Engineering/Computational Finance or a similar major
Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel with VBA. Solid knowledge of SQL, option pricing models, Python, or other quantitative or data analysis software, and an understanding of interest rate modeling. Experience with Bloomberg terminal is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Attention to detail.
WORK LOCATION:
