1/7/2025 11:59 PM Central Description: The Education Deputy Advisor will serve as the Executive Director of Communications in the Louisiana Department of Education Office of Government and Public Affairs' Division of Communications. This position is charged with executing the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of the agency's annual planning and progress monitoring of objectives and key performance indicators. The Executive Director will assist the Deputy Chief of Communications in directing the work activities of the Division of Communications, supervise the Public Information Director and the Division of Communications Student Worker, and ensure alignment with the Department’s goals and effective outreach. This role includes managing the agency’s call center contract, priority informational marketing and communications campaigns, school system communications, social media, and communications division-level planning. Minimum Qualifications: Nine years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience plus six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR An advanced degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services. Examples of Work: Assists the unclassified executive in directing state educational authority (SEA) and local educational authority (LEA) educational programs. Meets with high-level state and local officials on matters relating to the department. Reviews and makes recommendations for departmental budget revisions. Prepares responses on complex matters affecting the office and the department. Oversees educational program data collection, evaluation, and analysis.
