At Oracle, our exciting mission to build a premier health data platform with intelligent services brings about several interesting technical challenges. As part of this team, you will accelerate several architectural efforts - achieving orders of magnitude data processing latency improvement, creating comprehensive patient health records that can scale to entire populations of nations, and creating a health data lake at massive scale to enable a host of intelligent health services. Healthcare applications are mission-critical, requiring advancement to the highest levels of availability and disaster recovery capabilities. We're looking for highly skilled engineers to design and build high-scale, cloud-based data processing systems that can handle massive amounts of data with low latency. You'll work with software engineering leads and engineering managers to design, implement code, and deliver data processing software to our customers and stakeholders. Responsibilities: Implement distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems. Build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure. Participate in peer/code reviews. Engage in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, to quality assurance, to production deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance. Invest in the best engineering and operational practices to ensure high software quality. Optimize data processing pipelines for higher throughput and faster latencies. Leverage internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Strong OO design and programming experience in one or more JVM languages. Demonstrated competence in taking ambiguous functional and/or product requirements and partitioning them based on functional alignment. Experience working with technical leadership to translate requirements into actionable technical requirements and per-component designs. Experience with all aspects of the development, characterization, and deployment of features spanning multiple components. Experience with distributed systems implementing SaaS/IaaS, data pipelines, data ETL in real-time or batch environments. Experience in technologies and design concepts around Big Data processing, Analytics, relational databases, unstructured storage, Hadoop or similar parallel compute technologies, stream processing, etc. Familiarity with Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development. 5+ years of experience using an object-oriented programming language. Desirable Qualifications: Experience partnering with managers to define and drive the technical culture and processes of an engineering team. Experience building services and API endpoints.
