Summary
Blended technical includes areas of Network Administration, Security administration, PC/LAN support, VMWare ESX
virtual environment administration, Windows server support and administration, database reporting and
telecommunications VOIP. Technical experience and knowledge with health care concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core
organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software
and associated operating systems. Position may require occasional weekend work and hours before 7am and after 7pm
and on Call time.

Creates and supports internal database reports.
Sets up, configures and supports internal and external networks including network infrastructure and server platforms.
Develops and maintains systems, applications, security and network configurations in compliance with HIPAA regulations.*
Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots software and hardware used throughout the health system.
Performs and directs hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed.
Identifies and resolves technical problems using a problem management database.
Provides consultation to colleagues as needed. *
Provides maintenance and support for a Mitel VOIP PBX system. (Moves, Adds, Changes)- keeps a 99.5% availability.
Follows industry standards for best practice on Microsoft operating systems, Office suites and other network infrastructures.*
Follows and maintains HIPAA compliance with Security and Antivirus tools.*
Project Work meets goals and priorities and Health Care Standards.
Acts as Team member, participant, and Technical leader on project work.
Delivers regular reports that clearly communicate the results and/or progress of clinical systems initiatives.
Creates measures of success.
Communicates effectively.
Documents, trains, educates users and peers.*
Completes Design Build Test Implement and Support.
Follows Server deployment check off sheet. *
Follows testing procedure.*
Deploys equipment with zero interruptions to the end user.
Contributes to Department Objectives and MLHS Objectives.*
Knows industry standards for Health Care IT continuous improvement.
Understands Government mandates for Hitech, Meaningful use, and Minnesota e-health initiatives.
Adheres to agreed upon timelines for projects and tasks assigned. *
Prioritizes effectively according to impact on the Organization.
On call response within the policy standards.*
Delivers Training and learning opportunities to MLHS staff, Reference Materials and Documentation.
Documents all processes expected to perform by other IT staff and/or the end user.*
Cross trains assigned staff members. *
Posts all reference material for the Department to review.

Required Education and Experience
2 year post High school degree and/or IT certification (CompTIA A+, PC Pro, MCSA or comparative IT Certification)
5 years of experience in desktop/networking technologies.
Knowledge of current Windows, VMWare
Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network, server and PC operating systems.
Working knowledge of telephony systems, including Mitel and VOIP.
Excellent technical knowledge of report writing and database structures.
Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws (HIPAA).
Preferred Education and Experience
Certifications in Microsoft, VMWare, Mitel or Cisco
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT related field preferred
