Sunnyvale, California, United States Corporate Functions The Apple Online Store (AOS) is not your traditional e-commerce site. It is where iPhones, Macs, iPads, and Watches are sold to tens of millions of customers each year. We are looking for an outstanding, motivated, and dedicated hands-on technical Engineering Manager to help design and build software for our Digital Assets Management Platform. The Digital Assets team writes and manages software for images, videos, 3D, and AR assets of the entire Apple Online Store. As demand for Digital Assets grows year over year, so does the complexity of this software. Description As an Engineering Manager, you will be leading a team of Engineers and guiding the development of innovative and complex features in a fast-paced environment. The role requires: Hands-on Technical management and strategic vision to build next-generation software systems. Experience shipping and troubleshooting commercial quality, consumer-oriented software. Strong knowledge of web services architecture and distributed systems at scale, developing a comprehensive strategy for performance testing, measurement, monitoring, and analysis, with the ability to make quick decisions in production issues. Experience in instilling a defensive programming culture across a large engineering organization. Strong planning and execution skills. Strong software engineering skills and the ability to act as an arbitrator for challenging technical debates. Ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships, including product managers, development teams, and senior leadership. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or MS in computer science or equivalent experience with at least 5+ years in leading a development team. Experience in Java, Web Services, AWS, and Database technologies. Experience in C, C++, and Swift is a bonus. Preferred Qualifications Passion for product ownership and the ability to dive deep as needed to facilitate technical strategy trade-offs while understanding the big picture to shape the product. Able to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams such as other Engineering organizations and product management. Experience hiring strong technical talent while maintaining the team culture. Consistent track record of mentoring and helping engineers grow their careers. Self-directed: the ability to drive a project from a simple idea to production. Additional Requirements At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchase plans.
