Job Description
In this position, candidates will utilize their welding and fabrication experience on a daily basis. Some common products that candidates will be working on include tillage equipment, storage tanks, fertilizer spreaders, HVAC equipment for ethanol plants, and other custom metal products. With such a variety of products being manufactured, candidates can count on having a change in what is being worked on from week to week.
Responsibilities- Welding on agricultural equipment with MIG welders
- Training on or learning blueprints to layout products
- Working alongside other welders and leads to complete projects efficiently
- Fabricating material and cleaning up welds with a grinder
- Operating overhead crane as needed to move products
- Communicating with other departments to ensure product flow is smooth and efficient
- Helping train new hires once comfortable
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Wirefeed welding proficiency
- Ability to set up and adjust a welding machine
- Blueprint reading and layout experience
- Experience with MIG welding
- Proficiency in using a grinder and other fabrication tools
- Experience with operating overhead cranes
- Experience with Miller Electric Welders, Lincoln Electric Welders, ESAB Welders, and Fronius Welders
- Knowledge of press brake, farming, shop class, metal fabrication, tape measure, structure, hand tools, flux core, grinder, grinding, agricultural equipment, and sheet metal
- Blueprint and layout experience is a huge plus and preferred but not mandatory
- Prior welding experience or education is required
The company is two years into a brand new facility. With the growth of the company, there is an opportunity to move into a lead or supervisor role. They always look to promote from within and seek the best candidate for the role, which could be a new hire.
Work EnvironmentEmployees are generally very helpful and work together. The shop is typically very comfortable temperature-wise, even during hot weeks. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:30pm, with occasional half-day Fridays. Currently, the workload is consistent, resulting in about 50 hours per week.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, North Dakota.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00
