Travel Hospital Information: 2811 Tieton Drive, Yakima, WA 98902 Trauma III Center Beds: 226 250-300 patients/day – busy ED – (PLEASE RELAY THIS TO THE TRAVELER) General Information: Beds: 34 Will you accept a first-time traveler? NO Years of Experience: at least 2-year of ED experience Patient Types: Neonate to Geriatric, busy LEVEL III trauma center. Pediatrics (25%) Administer TPa. All ER diagnoses. Busiest ED in the state. Pediatric Traumas. Ship out: neurosurgery, traumas, peds patients Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 based on acuity; fast track (13 beds, “green zone”) ER is set up in zones Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (PALS and TNCC preferred) Skills required: Able to set up chest tubes, art lines. Assist with Trauma and Code cases. ER skills, Critical patients. Pediatric emergency medicine experience is highly preferred. Splinting. Good understanding of ESI. Triage experience required. Support on the Unit: 3 ED techs - transport, stock rooms, EKGs, sitters MAs - blood sugars, pass meds, assist with splinting Receptionist/HUC: Yes Charge nurse: Yes, typically not in a patient assignment Phlebotomy? Yes, RN responsible for drawing their own labs. Especially for nights. IV/VAT Team? Yes until 2300 for hard sticks and dependent upon availability Hospitalist? Yes Mid level providers: NPs Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV pumps: Plum Pumps Medication dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Draeger Floating: If yes, where? No Orientation (#hrs/shifts): Hospital NEO then will work the remaining shift with a preceptor on the floor 1-2 shifts on the unit with preceptor support (will have their own patient assignment but have a resource buddy) Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Yes, every other weekend. (may work back-to-back weekends, rare) Looking for flexibility. On call? If so, what is that schedule? No Holiday Expectations: They can be scheduled on holidays, 1-2 holidays per contract. Approval of time off? Can we approve up to 7 days off on your behalf? Yes, With a one-week extension Can we text you with any requests over 7 days? Yes Shift times: Variable “Our ED has two shifts we post DAY/EVE which consists of these shifts 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 10a-10p, 11a-11p. And EVE/NOC which consists of these shifts 12p-12a, 1p-1a, 2p-2a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a. When we hire/offer, these are the shifts that they could be placed. They usually do not bounce around these shifts; however, it makes it easy for us to move them around when the need of the unit or the staff member warrants.
