Honesty and integrity are the main pillars of our business. Position Overview We are searching for an experienced, diligent associate to support our family law partner. The applicant should have impeccable attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to be flexible. The ideal candidate will have a strong family law litigation background, excellent research and writing skills, and a passion for supporting families with young children in transition. Responsibilities include: · Prioritize confidentiality in all client-related matters. · Draft pleadings and correspondence with court and attorneys in family law matters. · Assist in preparing cases for hearings. · Draft and respond to discovery requests. · File pleadings with the probate court both in person and electronically. · Appear in court for routine proceedings such as continuances. · Provide regular case status updates to clients via email and telephone. · Move clients' matters through internal workflow to meet litigation deadlines. · Represent the firm at marketing events in the community as needed. Requirements: · J.D. degree from an accredited law school. · Admitted to and in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar. · 2-5 years of family law experience (general litigation experience will also be considered) · Exceptional attention to detail required. · Experience with drafting and editing documents in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Clio and Adobe Acrobat. · Ability and willingness to appear in court on an as-needed basis. · Excellent time management and organizational skills. · Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize projects. Preferred Qualifications · Familiarity with Massachusetts Courts’ electronic filing system preferred. · Experience with producing and reviewing all aspects of discovery preferred. · Familiarity with Massachusetts Rule 401 Financial Statements and Rule 410 Discovery strongly preferred. · Experience in assisting with trial preparation a plus. · Experience with Clio practice management software preferred.
