Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee production operations.

The Production Manager will manage various manufacturing processes, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

The Production Manager will lead a team of up to 8 direct reports, with a strong focus on fostering a safety-driven culture, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities:

Safety, Health, Environment:

1. Lead by example to ensure a strong safety culture is developed and supported.
2. Ensure full conformance to EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
3. Promote safety initiatives, conduct safety training, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.

Production Management:

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
2. Coordinate schedules to meet demands ensuring optimal productivity and on-time delivery.
3. Monitor production metrics to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Team Leadership:

1. Lead, develop, and mentor a team focused on safety, performance, and professional development.
2. Drive team engagement and coaching to ensure the team meets production and safety goals.
3. Encourage open communication, collaboration, and critical thinking within the team.

Process Optimization:

1. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime.
3. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize performance.

Quality Assurance:

1. Collaborate with quality control to ensure that production meets quality standards and specifications.
2. Conduct regular confirmations, address issues immediately, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
3. Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the quality control processes.

Inventory Management:

1. Oversee raw material and finished goods inventory levels to maintain supplies for production.
2. Work closely with the supply chain team to optimize inventory.
3. Manage costs, including labor, materials, and supplies, ensuring budget adherence.

Requirements:

1. BS degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
2. Proven experience in extrusion, coating, or film production processes or similar processes.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing teams.
4. Commitment to fostering a safety-first culture and driving continuous improvement.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for operational efficiency.
6. Proficiency in production planning, inventory management, and quality management systems.
7. Solid experience with lean tools, Six Sigma, and/or other problem-solving tools.
