Location: 3X per week in Hackensack, NJ office with shuttle service provided for NYC-Based employees
Position Overview:
The Sr. Manager of Indirect Procurement will lead and drive strategic procurement initiatives across a range of indirect categories, prioritizing Logistics, Marketing, Business Services, and CAPEX MRO. This high-impact role will focus on building and executing effective sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, delivering significant cost savings and cash improvements, and leading a talented team of procurement professionals. This position requires a hands-on leader with expertise in category management, complex contract negotiations, and project management who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee talent development initiatives, ensuring that team members have the skills, knowledge, and support necessary to meet individual and departmental goals.
- Drive engagement, accountability, and growth within the team to build a high-performing procurement function.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders across departments, understanding their needs and aligning procurement strategies to support business goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations on procurement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Facilitate clear communication and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement initiatives, priorities, and performance expectations.
- Category Management:
- Develop and execute category strategies for key indirect spend areas, including Logistics, Marketing, Business Services, and CAPEX MRO.
- Analyze market trends, supplier landscapes, and internal demand to create effective sourcing strategies.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive value through strategic sourcing and category expertise.
- Lead initiatives to integrate ESG goals into procurement strategies
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM):
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, ensuring quality, service, cost, and innovation alignment.
- Develop and implement SRM programs to manage supplier performance, mitigate risks, and capture value beyond cost reduction.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with suppliers to support long-term business objectives.
- Cost Savings & Cash Improvement:
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, sourcing strategies, and supplier innovation.
- Establish and track KPIs to ensure the delivery of measurable cost reductions and cash improvement goals.
- Identify and capture opportunities to optimize spending while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Complex Contract Negotiations:
- Lead complex contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms that mitigate risk, improve flexibility, and align with company objectives.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and other departments to develop contracts that protect the company's interests and maximize value.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Project Management:
- Oversee large-scale procurement projects from initiation through execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Apply project management best practices to coordinate resources, manage stakeholder expectations, and mitigate potential issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution and deliverables.
- Strategic Sourcing in a Fast-Paced Environment:
- Develop agile sourcing strategies that respond to rapidly changing business needs.
- Implement best-in-class procurement practices to streamline operations and maximize efficiency.
- Lead change management initiatives to adapt to evolving market conditions, supply chain disruptions, and business priorities.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect categories such as Logistics, Marketing, Business Services, and CAPEX MRO. Logistics is a must
- Proven experience managing and developing a procurement team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Power BI, etc.) is highly desirable. Interest in discovering and recommending leading-edge AI tools.
- Travel - domestic travel, once or twice per quarter.
- Enjoy a hybrid work environment, working in the office 2-3 days per week
