Job Description: Job Title: Accounting Supervisor Location: St. Louis, MO (Remote/Hybrid) Pay Range: $ 92,388.00 - 112,598.00 base annual salary Reports To: Accounting Manager Position Summary: An Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. They lead and mentor accounting staff, coordinate financial activities, and provide analysis to senior management. Job Summary: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for managing the accounting team, overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role includes overseeing the floorplan funding and payoff process, providing payroll support, and requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Accounting Supervisor works closely with other departments, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, to support overall financial health and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Daily Financial Operations : Oversee daily transactions, including general ledger entries and bank reconciliations. Ensure all transactions are accurate and comply with company policies. Team Management : Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support. Conduct performance evaluations and assist in the recruitment and training of new team members. Financial Reporting : Assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Provide detailed financial reports to senior management. Compliance and Audits : Ensure compliance with accounting principles, laws, and regulations. Participate in external audits, preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries. Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department. Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Policy Development : Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements. Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and guidance. Ensure smooth communication and coordination between the accounting department and other business units. Floorplan Funding and Payoff : Oversee the floorplan funding process, including securing financing for inventory purchases and ensuring timely payoff of floorplan loans. Maintain accurate records of inventory financing and coordinate with lenders to manage floorplan accounts effectively. Payroll Support : Provide support for the payroll process, specifically calculating commissions and variable compensation, and ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor or similar role Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong leadership and team management skills Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with various departments Benefits: Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
