Iberia Foods, is a leading distributor of ethnic food and beverages with multiple locations across the United States. We are seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager to oversee and manage our accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsible for supporting the SE Regional Controller to assist with the GL close and various operational reporting. The role also participates in visits to the warehouse to assist with various inventory control procedures (such as spot checks of the truck check in process, cycle counts, repacking, and following up on mis pick issues).
Essential Duties:
•Responsible for the full accounting cycle; other tasks as required
•Running reports out of the ERP system and preparing journal entries
•Preparing reconciliations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, billback transactions, and accruals.
•Bank account reconciliations
•Vendor deposits - review aging and follow up to collect information on when the AP invoices and good will be received to apply against the open inventory prepayment
•Prepare and post payroll accrual and other recurring monthly J/Es
•Shrink and repack analysis
•Prepare Fresh pack financial statements
•Coordinate all paperwork for vehicles and drivers (for insurance & compliance purposes)
•Investigate unusual transactions and balances in the GL and subledger reports.
•Gather and compile support and analysis for external auditors.
•Support to operating business. Recording of daily sales, inventories, cost of goods adjustments
•Review cycle count adjustments and mispick reports and make sure the ABC cycle counting process is operating as intended. Track all cycle counts and keep the warehouses on track with counts.

Position Requirements
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Manage corporate accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll for the corporate entity and two smaller operating companies.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Assist in consolidating financial statements for multiple operating locations and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Operational Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operational heads to align accounting practices with corporate goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting operations across all locations.
- Monitor and manage working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting and analysis.
- Analyze financial performance against key metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Implement financial planning tools to enhance accuracy in forecasting.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Assist with external audits and respond to audit findings promptly.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Coordinate training programs to keep the team updated on accounting regulations and best practices.
- Provide oversight and support to regional controllers, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies.
- Technology and Systems:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software.
- Integrate accounting systems with other business systems to streamline operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Utilize technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness in financial reporting and analysis.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and manage financial risks, including currency, credit, and market risks.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
- Manage insurance policies and relationships with insurance providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Experience in the food and beverage distribution industry, particularly in a direct store delivery (DSD) model, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
