Come join the fast-growing Building Engineering Services Group at HDR. The Building Engineering Services Group (BES) provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing, site civil, structural, and specialty design services for a wide variety of buildings that include public, municipal, private, and Federal project types both locally as well as across the region and globally. With a team of experienced staff in specific market areas such as Healthcare, Science and Technology, Commercial Real Estate, Finance, Mission Critical, Hospitality, Industrial, Municipal, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Transportation, Federal, and Resources facilities, we provide engineering excellence for our clients.
Primary Responsibilities
HDR is seeking an Area Professional Services Lead to provide overall leadership of the BES team located in Houston, Texas. The primary responsibilities of the BES Professional Services Leader include overseeing and coordinating project delivery, forecasting, recruiting, staff development, profitability, morale, and quality control of our integrated engineering practice. In addition, this person will work closely with the BES Business Group Manager on strategic planning, client development, employee growth and development and other initiatives as required to grow our practice.

Responsibilities will include:
- Manage daily operations such as project oversight, management reviews, quality control, financials, recruiting and mentoring.
- Supervising and mentoring section managers and key staff.
- Supporting hiring efforts through communicating and vetting hiring needs with section managers.
- Engage with and manage quality of deliverables.
- Maintain forecasting data with section managers and business group coordinators.
- Maintain project and deliverables lists to ensure proper resource allocation and points of contact on each project.
- Coordinate with project managers to develop and monitor scope/schedule/budget information and build a culture of cooperation.
- Assist in establishing client relations by being involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
- Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
