Description
Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to drive the Advanced Battle Management System's (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) Network Manager program. This role is pivotal in supporting the Department of the Air Force (DAF) to develop and operate the ABMS Digital Infrastructure. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in conducting hands-on training and establishing training requirements for the ABMS DI Network capability.
The ABMS is a priority for modernization within the DAF, serving as the core of a network-centric battle management strategy across all military services within the Department of Defense. This immense effort is part of the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiative, aimed at enabling U.S. forces and their allies to swiftly process and act on critical information, outpacing adversaries in response times.
This position is based in Orlando, FL, and follows a hybrid work schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
Deliver engaging lecture-based and hands-on technical training to students on ABMS DI-Network systems.
Implement network system upgrades at various field locations, both CONUS and OCONUS as necessary.
Oversee SD-WAN architecture and manage operational and security-related updates and changes.
Administer the Secure Vector Routing tables, including assessing requirements for traffic prioritization and routing.
Guide and mentor team members on intricate architecture and configuration aspects.
Present management updates concerning the Digital Infrastructure Network.
Basic Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a minimum Top Secret clearance.
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience with 12+ years of relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated experience as a trainer for network systems or related technical areas.
Strong understanding of network engineering, architecture, and automation.
Experience in configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
Hands-on experience in the following:
Python script development
Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana
Linux systems administration
Windows systems administration
Proven record of developing solutions that influence strategic project/program objectives and recommending innovative technical solutions.
Experience in leading technical staff on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) or cross-functional teams to achieve significant project outcomes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, team-building, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior involvement in ABMS or JADC2 projects or other U.S. Air Force initiatives.
Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies.
Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Experience in Software Engineering, including authoring and executing test cases for software products in an agile environment.
Experience with Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS) and various DevOps tools.
