Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Activities Director to lead the social and recreational programs at Mountain View Manor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing events, activities, and outings that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents. This role is critical in fostering a sense of community, promoting socialization, and enhancing the overall quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities
Design and implement a comprehensive activities program that incorporates music, art, exercise, and other leisure activities tailored to the needs of our residents, including those with dementia or memory loss.
Collaborate with our care team to identify and incorporate activities that promote socialization, cognitive function, and physical activity.
Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, vendors, and entertainment providers to ensure a diverse range of activities and events.
Coordinate and supervise activities and events, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.
Manage the facility's activity schedule, ensuring that there is always something engaging and meaningful for our residents to participate in.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our activities program, making adjustments as needed to ensure that it meets the evolving needs of our residents.
Provide support and guidance to staff members involved in activities, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality experiences for our residents.
Qualifications
A strong background in social work, caregiving, or senior care, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective activities programs.
Experience working with seniors, including those with dementia or memory loss, and a deep understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, staff members, and community partners.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and customer service.
Proven experience with scheduling management and the ability to coordinate multiple activities and events simultaneously.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of assisted living and long-term care.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in social work, gerontology, or a related field preferred.

Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
