Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sous Chef for the department of Dining Services.Among the key duties of this position are the following: Oversees food production, ensures that all food is produced in a timely manner to meet needs, and presents in an attractive and appealing style. Oversees kitchen personnel in the production of hot and cold food, in the cleaning of food preparation areas, and in the control of food costs. Certifications/Licenses Requires ServSafe certification, or certification within one year of employment. Must pass Food Handler's Certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Food communication skills and computer literacy in industry standard software. Must be able to read and follow standardized recipes and production worksheets. Preferred Qualifications Prefers a degree in culinary arts. Equipment Utilized Utilizes industrial kitchen equipment and FoodPro proprietary food production, planning and control system.
