The Opportunity:

ECI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of our organization.

This is a remote role with a strong preference for candidates to be based in the New York, NY or Chicago, IL area.

What you will do:

The Manager of FP&A will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of our organization. This position is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function, providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term planning and scenario analysis.
• Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs and provide guidance on financial targets and assumptions.

Analysis and Reporting

• Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide insightful variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to drive financial performance.

Strategic Support

• Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute business strategies and initiatives.
• Support strategic projects, including M&A activities, capital investments, and market expansion plans.
• Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify industry trends and benchmarks.

Who you are:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a proven track record of success in a managerial role.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting tools, such as Excel, Hyperion, or SAP.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a focus on collaboration and driving results.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in an independent environment with limited need for supervision.
• Ability to work under a moderate noise level (i.e. working on an open floor with printers, telephones, and computers)
• Ability to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
• Availability to respond to and address urgent matters which may occur outside of normal business hours.
• Ability to be flexible and successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
