Job Summary

HR Benefits Analysts are members of the HR Benefits team responsible for administration of employee benefit programs, providing customer service for employee benefit questions and vendor issues, assistance with regulatory compliance, and executing benefits projects.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 35% Customer service: Builds expertise on Standard's benefits plans and programs. Provides responsive and caring customer service for escalated benefits questions. Ensures customer needs are clearly understood. Researches and responds to employee and retiree benefit questions of medium to high complexity, providing timely and accurate information.
  • 35% Benefits administration and auditing: Processes employee transactions and data requests related to various health and welfare and retirement plans and programs. Generates/receives and reviews regular reports such as enrollment and election audits, as benefits deductions. Audits automated and manual data entry processes. Processes invoices and performs reconciliations. Engages in preparing data for internal and external auditors, and government reporting purposes. Maintains accurate and complete records.
  • 15-25% Projects: Key member of project teams for annual open enrollment and benefit/vendor implementations. May have responsibility for leading and managing projects, assisting planning, developing communications and execution. Completes Workday system testing and all assigned tasks.
  • 0-10% Program ownership: May own and have primary administration responsibility for one or more benefit programs (e.g. care.com, wellness).
  • 5% Employee education: Conducts Benefits overview for New Employee Orientation, open enrollment, ad hoc for other purposes throughout the year, and other duties as assigned..
Location: Employees in this role are fully remote and are responsible for maintaining their office setup at home to include private, professional, and safe working conditions.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel (such as conferences or team building) may be required.

Skills and Background You'll Need
  • Experience:
    • 2 years HR benefits experience.
    • At least 1 year of experience work with Excel; knowledge of formulas, including V Lookup and Pivot tables.
    • Workday experience preferred
  • Education: High School Diploma

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.


Salary Range:
$64,250.00 - $94,000.00
