Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The S&R Material Handler position verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Performs job duties keeping in mind safety, quality, housekeeping and productivity standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receive inbound shipments validating items and quantities as itemized on packing slips, bills of lading, etc. utilizing scan gun procedures. Safely operate a fork truck in the warehouse to organize inventory, unload incoming shipments and load outgoing shipments. Provide shipping paperwork to the S&R clerk in a timely fashion. Support Customer Service and Warehouse team members by communicating when urgent shipment issues arise. Pick and stage customer orders in an efficient manner. Maintain accurate inventory in the warehouse BINS by appropriately utilizing scan gun procedures and participating in weekly cycle counts and regular physical inventory counts. Operates stand up forklift to convey, move or hoist materials to the proper departments or areas. Operates stretch wrappers and banders. Immediately identify and communicate damaged goods. Work in a safe manner and report unsafe situations. Work with designated group/individual to ensure shipments are appropriately scheduled. Create. print and add labels to shipments. Take initiative to contribute to the positive growth of the department and organization while being a positive and motivating team player. Various warehouse duties as assigned. These activities are the basic job requirements. You may be asked periodically to help or assist in other job duties as management deems necessary

Good organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse community. Fork truck experience Sit down/Stand up Ability to work independently maintaining high standards. Must be able to work overtime as/if needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
list specific education and experience requirements. All position must at least have a HS diploma/GED equivalent.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED Previous experience working in a Shipping and Receiving Previous exp. with Stand-up Forklift required RF Scanner Gun Inventory and cycle counting

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Medium Work: Exerting up to (50-70) pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to (20-40) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
