Job Overview:
As VP, Data Product Manager you will have the opportunity to shape LPL's strategic data foundation for the future. In this role, you will connect Business product owners with Technology delivery teams using data to power experiences for our Advisors and Investors.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the data strategy and roadmap for multiple domains of data considered LPL sources of record (SORs) for consumers. Ensure SORs are highly governed, adhere to enterprise architecture and data ingestion and distribution patterns, align to the enterprise data model, and that data is of high quality and consistency. Partner with data product owner peers to develop a comprehensive data strategy across SORs. Collaborate with peers to integrate cross-domain and cross-SOR business requirements. Work with data domain teams to build, govern and maintain new data products that source consuming applications in a domain-oriented, mesh architecture. Create, manage, and report on a backlog of prioritized work for your respective SORs. Own your data domain roadmap and report to senior leaders and project teams on the consumption readiness of data in SORs. Develop a deep understanding of both data domains and the business products consuming that data. Work with business product owners to develop a deep understanding of consuming product, application, reporting, advisor, and investor experiences that the data powers. Turn business outcomes and capability requirements into data specifications for data engineers and modelers. Document in Jira and Confluence. Provide both high-level and detailed scoping estimates with Technology partners for architecture and solution design, data flow and lineage, attribute-level data mapping, and data distribution mechanisms. Develop and socialize detailed SOR roadmaps that include views of transitions from legacy data sources to strategic sources, data gap analyses, end-to-end data flows and lineage diagrams, data governance scorecards that include KPIs for data quality. Participate in and advise on data governance tooling and vendor selection. Provide data governance requirements for vendor and tool selection efforts. Drive ownership with SOR and technology teams to ensure they are responsible and accountable for the implementation of data policies, standards, and control frameworks. Work with data product analysts to identify data issues and risks and develop remediation plans with Service and Operations teams. Regularly interview business, product, service, and operations stakeholders to gather feedback on data quality and consistency issues. Partner with business teams to create, prioritize, manage, and communicate the data product backlog.

Requirements:
10+ years' experience in data warehouse design, data management, data governance, business intelligence and analytics, or similar. Proven experience in individual contributor-level data management roles like data analyst, data modeler, data pipeline engineer, BI analyst, or developer. Solid knowledge base of data governance including data quality rules coding and implementation, data catalogs, quality scorecard development, data lineage, mastering data, and reference data management. 10+ years experience with business intelligence tools and report development in tools like Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, Domo, Qlik, Sisense, etc. Proven ability to influence strategy and decisions across the organization verbally and via business case development.
Core Competencies:
Hands-on data analysis, source-to-target mapping, data lineage tracing, remediation, etc. Experience coding or reading and understanding data transformations in pipelines. Experience designing and implementing a variety of data architecture patterns. Experience using and developing in a variety of RDBMS like AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, etc. Experience using (data steward) or implementing (technology) data governance tools like Collibra, AWS Datazone, Alation, atlan, data.world, etc.
Preferences:
Wealth management and wealth advisory services industry experience. Prior people leadership experience. Prior experience in a data product management role. Agile and lean delivery methods. Solid understanding of relational, star, snowflake data modeling.
Pay Range: $132,000.00 - $220,000.00 Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
