The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs to manufacture precision parts according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 per year Shift: First Work Hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM Education: No Degree Required
Responsibilities:
Program Development:
Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360). Generate G-code and other machine-specific code for various CNC machines (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders). Simulate machining processes to identify and resolve potential issues. Optimize programs to minimize cycle times and maximize material utilization.
Process Planning:
Assist in the development of manufacturing processes, including selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters. Analyze part drawings and determine the most efficient machining strategies.
Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot and resolve programming errors and machine malfunctions. Work closely with CNC machinists to diagnose and resolve on-the-machine issues.
