The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in accounting as an accountant or bookkeeper, preferably within a law firm setting, with hands-on experience using Orion software. The role involves overseeing the billing clerk, managing the month-end close process, payroll, financial reporting, and reconciliations. As a key player in the accounting department, you will be a self-starter with strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Hillcrest, San Diego (onsite with available parking)
Position Type: Temp to Hire
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the billing clerk, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of client invoices.
- Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and financial reports are prepared in a timely manner.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Work closely with senior leadership to prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial operations and information.
- Assist with audits and other accounting-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Previous experience in a law firm environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Orion software is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-starter with a friendly personality and a collaborative work approach.
