Overview
SRI International's Information Technology Group is seeking a motivated and accomplished IT Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and guiding internal technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing resources, setting clear objectives, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. The project manager will have a strong understanding of both technology and business processes, as well as the ability to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and adapt to changes throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include developing project plans, managing scope, timelines, allocating resources, and tracking spend while supporting the SRI's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged. This role is a remote role, and can be located anywhere in the continental U.S.
Responsibilities
Project Initiation: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, risks, and objectives.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses, including return on investment (ROI), to establish project feasibility. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend opportunities for improvement. Facilitate discussions on solution alternatives and provide initial estimates for budgets, resources, and timelines. Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans that encompass business objectives, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and milestones. Align resources with project goals and ensure clear ownership of deliverables. Establish accountability and maintain stakeholder alignment throughout the planning phase. Project Execution: Monitor project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. Manage risks proactively, resolve project issues, and implement contingency strategies. Oversee team activities, prioritize responsibilities, and evaluate performance. Track project progress, maintain accurate deliverable plans, and define key metrics. Prepare status reports, facilitate project meetings, and ensure open communication with stakeholders. Ensure compliance with security and organizational standards through effective change management practices. Project Delivery: Develop and implement training plans as needed to support project rollout. Complete project documentation, conduct post-project reviews, and validate achieved benefits. Establish post-go-live support models, address rollout issues, and identify areas for ongoing improvement. Report variances from initial objectives and provide recommendations for future projects. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve processes and systems, driving long-term organizational value. Utilize methodologies such as Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma to identify efficiencies across business functions. Develop SMART metrics and KPIs to measure success and inform decision-making. Provide leadership, training, and subject matter expertise in continuous improvement practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience 3-5 years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in IT projects Demonstrated success managing projects in one or more areas: Business Applications: FI, HCM, CRM, IPM, SRM IT Operations & Infrastructure: Email, servers, hardware, networking Information Security & Identity Access Management Strong customer service orientation and collaborative approach. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Deep understanding of business processes and their influence on operational efficiency and project success. Proven ability to overcome challenges and achieve goals within scope, schedule, and budget. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead diverse teams, foster strong relationships, and deliver impactful results. Expertise in risk management and leveraging lessons learned for continuous improvement. Comfortable working across all levels of the organization and influencing key stakeholders. Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision. Desired Qualifications PMP certification highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint. Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira) U.S. citizenship preferred Experience in government contracting environments is highly desirable. The salary range is: $102,800 -$145,000/annually. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
