Summary of Position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the Finance/Accounting Division. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and contributing to the success of our esteemed establishment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  2. Provide insightful analysis of financial results, identifying trends, and offering recommendations for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets.
  4. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
  5. Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  6. Ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  7. Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  8. Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
  9. Stay updated on industry regulations and accounting standards, ensuring the hotel's financial practices remain in compliance.
  10. Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
  11. Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  12. Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and facilitate professional development.
  13. Work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  14. Assist in reconciling payroll data and related accounts, fostering a seamless integration between accounting and payroll functions.
  15. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  16. Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize financial outcomes for the hotel.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on hospitality or luxury hotel industry experience preferred.
  2. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly desirable.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Physically able to walk and sit for extended periods of time
