Job Summary:

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at two Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee locations. This individual will ensure the facilities of two BGCGM locations are well-maintained and comply with health and safety standards, creating a positive experience for youth, staff, and visitors. This role supports two locations on the North Side of Milwaukee and will split time within the two locations.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing all areas of the facilities (restrooms, offices, gymnasiums, and common areas).
  • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling from all designated areas.
  • Ensure all restrooms are stocked with supplies (toilet paper, soap, hand towels, etc.).

Safety and Compliance:

  • Use cleaning supplies and equipment according to safety guidelines.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical, or HVAC concerns) to the Facilities & Safety Manager.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent hazards or accidents.

Facility Oversight:

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the Facilities & Safety Manager when restocking is necessary.
  • Set up and break down spaces for special events or programs as requested.
  • Lock and secure facilities after hours when necessary.

Travel Between Locations:

  • Rotate cleaning duties between two assigned locations within the Milwaukee area.
  • Coordinate schedule to ensure consistent maintenance at both sites.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work. Preferably over 2 years.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Attention to detail and dedication to creating a clean and safe environment for youth.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between two club locations.
  • Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

This position is between two sites from 7pm to 3am.
